About Us

At Notationware we believe that making Music should be Fun!

Our philosophy is that music is the universal language and should be accessible to everyone. Our goal is to provide high quality, user friendly and affordable software. Users should be able to access their content and curriculum from anywhere they like. We are not music publishers. We are focused on providing high quality, easy to use music notation/tablature software allowing users to learn, create and publish their music in print with a truly interactive experience. Additionally, we provide a mechanism for users to distribute and share their files with other users on a web site thus creating a real Music Community.

Notationware knows that music makes you smarter and improves your creativity. In view of that, we strongly support the educational market. We are committed to working within every school’s budget to ensure that all students have access to music composition software, through the most cost effective educational pricing, as well as district and school site license pricing. Additionally, we extend educational discount pricing to students through their school’s Music department. A student needs to simply provide verification from their Music Instructor to receive the discount. Notationware has donated software to numerous schools that could not afford to include offering music composition software to their students.

Notationware will offer additional products with the main focus on “ease of use” interfaces at affordable prices. We will continually update and support our product offering and strive to provide the easiest music composition software programs on the market.

With Play Music, Fretwriter Lite, Manuscript Maker, keyboardstudio.net, and all of the other applications offered by our partners that license our technology, you no longer need to spend hundreds of dollars or countless hours learning a software program.

How Did Notationware Get Started?

Notationware was formed in July 2000 by Fortunato Camporeale after working as Director of Sales for several other established music notation software companies.

Fortunato, an accomplished guitarist/composer/recording engineer, saw the need for affordable, stable, user-friendly composition software for aspiring and professional musicians and formed Notationware employing the most talented music software developers available.
